Detroit Red Wings retire Segei Fedorov’s No. 91 jersey at Little Caesars Arena

Fedorov was a key contributor to three Stanley Cup championships

DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings have retired center Sergei Fedorov’s jersey at Little Caesars Arena in celebration of the Hockey Hall of Famer.

His No. 91 jersey was raised to the rafters alongside legends like Gordie Howe, Steve Yzerman, and Ted Lindsay.

Fedorov, who left Russia and never looked back, became one of the greatest players in franchise history.

On Monday (Jan. 12), his jersey took its rightful place as the Red Wings’ ninth number retired.

The ceremony honored Fedorov ahead of their 4-3 victory against the Carolina Hurricanes, with former teammates and thousands of fans in attendance to celebrate his 13 incredible years in Detroit.

Fedorov was a key contributor to three Stanley Cup championships.

Reflecting on his departure from the team in 2003, he admitted it “was a mistake,” but Monday’s ceremony made things right by cementing his legacy.

His impressive resume includes three Stanley Cups, the 1994 Hart Trophy, and 400 goals scored in a Red Wings sweater—ranking fourth in team history.

Fedorov was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2015.

Still considering Detroit home, Fedorov said he feels at ease every time he lands in the city, noting he “breathes differently” here.
