DETROIT – Another top prospect is joining the Detroit Tigers after Zach McKinstry was placed on the injured list.
McKinstry was injured Wednesday, April 15, during the Tigers’ 2-1 win over the Kansas City Royals. He was hitting .209 with one homer, two doubles, three walks, and 10 strikeouts across 46 plate appearances so far this season.

To replace McKinstry, the Tigers have called up Hao-Yu Lee, the No. 6 prospect in the organization.
Lee, 23, has played six games with Triple-A Toledo so far this season, going 4-for-26 with a homer, one walk, and seven strikeouts.
Last season, Lee played 126 games for the Mud Hens and slashed .243/.342/.406 with 14 homers, eight triples, and 23 doubles. He also stole 22 bases.
Lee played five games for the Tigers during spring training before leaving to join Team Chinese Taipei for the World Baseball Classic. An oblique injury sidelined him before he could even take the field.
Lee is considered a solid all-around hitter and defender who could fill a role as a part-time infielder mostly facing left-handed pitchers.
The Tigers have won six games in a row to improve to 10-9 on the season.
