Offensive Line? Back-up Quarterback? Where do Lions position battles stand halfway through Training Camp

Analysts debate early standouts from preseason opener

DETROIT – It may seem like it just started, but the Lions have crossed the halfway point of training camp ahead of the 2026 NFL season. Last Thursday (August 13th) the Bengals handed them their first loss of three preseason games scheduled for this month, but despite the setback, a lot of different players made themselves known.

Sunday (August 16th) on Sports Final Edition, Hobie Artigue was joined by Nolan Bianchi of The Detroit News and Ben Raven of MLive to help breakdown all that happened in Cincinnati. From the musical chairs game the Lions are currently playing with their offensive line, to the undrafted rookie that is making a run at the team’s back-up quarterback position, the guys go over all of the key position battles and who else stood out to them in the first game action of the summer.
