DETROIT – The Detroit Pistons are sitting in second place in the NBA's Eastern Conference through 10 games with a 7-3 record, behind only the Boston Celtics at 8-2.

Yes, it's only 10 games but the Pistons have already beaten some good teams, including the Clippers, Warriors and Bucks.

Andre Drummond has seemingly solved his free throw problems and Avery Bradley and Stanley Johnson are forming a defensive front nobody wants to face.

Can the Pistons keep it up? We'll see. For now, they are slowly gaining some respect around the league.

Here's where the Pistons are ranking in various power rank lists:

Sports Illustrated: Pistons at No. 6: Alright, so Detroit might be legit. At least in the East. I’m still not sure about the reliability of Andre Drummond (see 10/29 vs. Golden State) but the rest of this squad is filling in nicely. Avery Bradley has found his his scoring groove, Ish Smith is doing stuff off the bench, and what do you know, this team is second in the East.

Hoops Habit: Pistons at No. 5: We’ll chalk up that 20-point loss to the Lakers as a scheduled hangover loss in L.A., but other than that, it was another impressive week for the Detroit Pistons, whose 7-3 mark is second in the East.

Yahoo Sports: Pistons at No. 10: They beat the Warriors, Clippers, and Timberwolves on a three-game win streak, which is impressive. We’re still a little skeptical that they can sustain this level — their starters have been outscored by 36 points so far this season — but the improvement from Reggie Jackson (who has looked closer to his old self) is a good sign. Regardless, they look like a playoff team in an upside-down East early.

NOLA.com: Pistons at No. 5: Pistons center Andre Drummond's jump from shooting 38.6 percent at the free throw line last year to 75 percent this year has been one of the league's best early-season stories. But Detroit's overall play has been really impressive considering how low expectations were for them coming in.

The Pistons have a couple of days off before returning to action on Wednesday against the Indiana Pacers, followed by games against Atlanta, Miami and Milwaukee.
