DETROIT – 
The Detroit Pistons will be without head coach Lawrence Frank Wednesday night against the New York Knicks.
The team practiced without their head coach Tuesday and Wednesday because of what the Pistons are calling "personal reasons." Assistant coach Brian Hill will take over the sideline duties against a Knicks team that will more than likely be without Carmelo Anthony because of a knee injury.
Regardless of whether Anthony actually plays, the Pistons are preparing for him to be in the lineup.
"They're still the Knicks," Brandon Knight said at Wednesday morning's shoot-around. "They are one of the best teams in the East."
The Knicks are currently 3rd in the Eastern Conference Standings with a 36-21 record behind Miami and Indiana. But the attention is surrounding Anthony and his knee. It is still undetermined how long Anthony will sit out, but head coach Mike Woodson says he's going to listen to his star.
"[The players] know their own bodies," Woodson said this morning. "If he comes to me and says he's ready to go, I'll play him ... but if he tells me he needs a day or two off, I'll certainly grant him that."
The Pistons will have their hands full regardless of whether Anthony plays or not. And without their head coach, Detroit will have some adjusting to do. Coach Hill says the message and the philosophy doesn't change with Frank's absence.
"There will not be much difference," Hill said.
