It's a disappointing finish for Jaeger, who won the US Olympic Trials in the 400m. He qualified seventh for the finals. He finished out of the medals by 0.67 seconds, despite taking a second off of his qualifying time in the finals.

Jaeger tries again for an Olympic medal on Aug. 12 in the 1500m freestyle.
