DETROIT – John Cook has been promoted from his account executive position to the New Business/Digital Sales Manager at WDIV-TV Local 4/ClickOnDetroit.
Cook joined the WDIV team in the fall of 2012 as a New Business Specialist, and has quickly ascended to the position of New Business/Digital Sales Manager.
Prior to joining WDIV, he spent the previous 17 years in the highly competitive print industry. As vice president for a regional direct mail magazine, he was responsible for market development, client acquisition and team building.
"John Cook is a true multi-media advertising executive with extensive experience in broadcast TV, digital, mobile, print and social media. His top-notch advertising IQ and prior sales management make him the ideal candidate for this position," said WDIV-TV General Sales Manager Gary Macko.
Cook has wide-ranging experience working directly with clients, as well as working with ad agencies on the local, regional and national level.
He currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Board for the Better Business Bureau (BBB), serving eastern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. He also sits on the Executive Committee and the Marketing Committee for the BBB.
Cook grew up in Tallmadge, Ohio, and is a graduate from the University of Akron. He moved to Detroit in 2004, and resides in Novi, Michigan with his wife Barbara and their three daughters.
