Red Wings’ three-game win streak snapped with shutout loss to Chicago
Turnovers and their inability to capitalize on early power-play opportunities cost the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday. Malcom Subban made 29 saves for his third career shutout and the Chicago Blackhawks prevailed 4-0 at Little Caesars Arena to snap the Red Wings’ season-long three-game winning streak. The Red Wings (16-24-6) began the night second-to-last in the NHL in goals per game (2.27) and were shut out for the sixth time this season. The Red Wings went 0 for 6 on the power play, including a five-on-three in the third period that lasted more than a minute.
