An attorney representing two sisters present for and injured in the Oxford High School shooting believes that school staff and administrators could have prevented the fatal shooting, but failed to do so.

The day before the shooting, the first teacher in the suit saw Ethan Crumbley searching on his cellphone for ammunition. The teacher reported this to a counselor but allowed Ethan Crumbley to stay in the classroom. The meeting over, Ethan Crumbley returned to class with his backpack and the gun within it.
