DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings were shut out for the first time this season Tuesday in a 1-0 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes at Little Caesars Arena. Dylan Larkin missed the third period after blocking a shot with his right hand late in the second period. The Red Wings (13-9-6) got a solid effort from Ville Husso (26 saves) but have dropped three in a row (0-2-1). The Red Wings pulled Husso for the extra skater with 2:43 remaining in regulation but couldn’t generate much pressure. The Red Wings picked up their play in the second period, generating more forecheck and spending more time on the offensive zone.
