Health assessment on Kalamazoo pollution will likely be released within 90 days, toxicologist says
KALAMAZOO, MI — Health officials are hoping an assessment about possible health effects tied to pollution will be ready to release later this year, according to the lead toxicologist working on the report. Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Toxicologist Brandon Reid told MLive on Oct. 14 much of the public report will be related to analysis of readings collected through air monitoring. The effort is examining the area around the Graphic Packaging International factory in Kalamazoo and the city’s wastewater plant, as part of an investigation into potential health impacts of chemicals in the air.
