KALAMAZOO, MI -- Eleanor Street will be closed between North Park Street and North Church Street for the removal of a crane that has been in use to build the Kalamazoo County justice facility, the city of Kalamazoo reports. The stretch of Elanor Street will be closed from Tuesday, Dec. 27, through Friday, Dec. 30, for the removal of a crane from the site, city of Kalamazoo Public Services Director James Baker said. The closure is needed to safely demobilize the crane, Baker said. Sidewalks will remain open for pedestrians and are permitted for use by bicycles. The couple first gained interest in antiques after Thybault became fascinated in discard items from construction on old town homes. Antique windows and attic finds evolved into a passion and, soon after, he pulled in Crane.

An investigation is underway in New York City to determine why a massive crane collapsed, killing one person. Wall Street worker David Wichs was killed when he was hit by part of the crane. The crane crashed Friday in strong winds as it was being lowered to safety. Three people were also injured by debris, two of them seriously. Several parked cars were crushed in the mishap and the crane is still blocking streets. DeMarco Morgan reports.
