A man who stole a car in Clinton Township managed to escape Eastpointe police during a chase before being arrested in the backyard of a home in Detroit, officials said.

Detroit police are searching for a person of interest in connection with the death of a mother of two who was shot and killed outside of her home.

DETROIT – Police said a 16-year-old was shot Saturday on Detroit’s east side. Investigators said the teen was walking down Carlisle Street near Gratiot Avenue and Hayes Street. A vehicle approached the teen before he was shot in the leg. The teen was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition. More: Detroit crime news
