Michigan is looking to play a full 60 minutes of dominant football this weekend against Nebraska after a string of games that stayed close until after the half.

Nebraska’s chances of pulling off an upset at Michigan on Saturday appear to have taken a hit. Cornhuskers interim coach Mickey Joseph said Thursday that starting quarterback Casey Thompson will miss his second straight game because of injury. Without Thompson last week against Minnesota, Nebraska played two quarterbacks, but both struggled in a 20-13 loss to Minnesota. The production from Smothers and Purdy was a significant dip from Thompson, who is fifth in the Big Ten in average passing yards per game (252.9). Regardless, who is behind center, Nebraska (3-6, 2-4 Big Ten) was still going to be a big underdog against the third-ranked Wolverines.

Ehlinger missed the second half after sustaining a shoulder injury in the second quarter. Thompson started the second half in place of Ehlinger and led Texas to a touchdown on its opening possession.
