He was placed in a cervical collar and transported to a hospital with a neck injury, according to the prosecutor’s office. Brown was arrested around 2:14 a.m. Sunday on two counts of operating while under the influence causing serious injury and two counts of reckless driving causing serious injury. “This is one of the reasons that we’ve (added the player development), just to have the resources available to talk about all these things and the issues that do pop up, particularly for young players,” Campbell said. “This was a young player and a couple young players, and the only way to address it is to talk about it head on.

ALLEN PARK -- With the pandemic limiting teams to just five tryout players during rookie minicamp, the Detroit Lions elected to roll with no offensive tackles so they could use all five spots on guys they actually wanted to evaluate. In the end, they’re signing three of the five guys they did offer tryouts, inking safety Alijah Holder, tight end Charlie Taumoepeau and cornerback Alex Brown before those players left town. All three went undrafted in previous seasons and have spent the bulk of their careers on practice squads. The Lions signed veteran Darren Fells to replace Hill as the primary blocker, plus return Pro Bowler T.J. Hockenson. Taumoepeau went undrafted out of Portland State last year before spending time on practice squads in Dallas, Indianapolis and San Francisco.
