Now that the deal was signed and DK Metcalf had the security and financial reward he was seeking, Seattle’s young wide receiver could acknowledge he played some games with the Seahawks through the negotiation process. “I was going to be here, as much as I bluffed to (GM) John (Schneider),” Metcalf said with a chuckle. Metcalf became the latest in a line of wide receivers to land big new contracts when he signed a three-year extension with the Seahawks on Friday.

Two people with knowledge of the deal say the Seattle Seahawks are expected to sign DK Metcalf to a three-year contract extension worth up to $72 million and $58 million guaranteed.

Metcalf’s career-best three touchdown catches against the Lions came three days after Pete Carroll ramped up practice a bit.

DK Metcalf could not be stopped on Monday night. The Seahawks wide receiver torched the Eagles defense, including former Lions cornerback Darius Slay and former Lions coach Jim Schwartz, to the tune of 10 catches for 177 yards in Seattle’s 23-17 win. “In my mind I’m not trying to be Megatron, I’m trying to be me. “So, hey, Slay needs to blame his D-coordinator for that.”Metcalf now has 58 catches for 1039 yards and nine touchdowns in 11 games this season. And to be fair, his numbers compare favorably to Calvin Johnson early in his career.

Wilson and Metcalf tormented San Francisco and its banged up secondary as the top-scoring offense in the league continued to pile up points. Wilson found rookie DeeJay Dallas on a 2-yard TD pass after San Francisco went three-and-out to open the second half for a 20-7 lead. The momentum from two straight wins for San Francisco (4-4) evaporated in a hurry as more injuries continued to pile up. On Metcalf’s second TD, Moseley was flagged for interference but couldn’t keep Metcalf’s size and strength from still making the catch. San Francisco played without starters Deebo Samuel, Jeff Wilson Jr., Kwon Alexander and safety Jaquiski Tartt.

Seattle appeared to get a winning TD to Metcalf on second-and-goal, but he lost the ball as he was hit from behind. After Cousins' pass was intercepted by K.J. Wilson threw five touchdown passes, setting a record for most scoring passes in the first three games of a season with 14. Wilson became the first QB to have at least four TD passes in each of the first three games. Metcalf appeared to have a walk-in touchdown after hauling in a deep pass from Wilson late in the first quarter. Dallas trailed 30-15 after Prescott fumbled on the first play of the second half and Wilson subsequently threw his fourth TD pass. But Prescott threw TD passes of 42 yards to Cedrick Wilson and 43 yards to Michael Gallup, and Greg Zuerlein’s 42-yard field goal with 4:03 left gave Dallas a 31-30 lead.

Earlier in the game, Bucs cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting was ruled out with a groin/hamstring injury. Brady threw two touchdown passes to Mike Evans along with another to Chris Godwin. Golladay missed the first two games of the season with a hamstring injury and Detroit has missed his production. The injury woes for Dallas continued when starting center Joe Looney walked to the locker room also with an ankle injury. Out of 48 NFL games so far in 2020, 10 have included paying customers.

It was his third career game with five TD passes and capped Seattle's wild second half after trailing 21-7 midway through the second quarter. And he was great in the fourth quarter and overtime against Tampa Bay as the Bucs and Seahawks trading scoring drives back and forth. Wilson was 11 of 20 for 177 yards in the fourth quarter and overtime combined. Outside linebacker Carl Nassib was lost early in the second quarter because of a groin injury and Nassib's backup, Anthony Nelson, injured his hamstring in the second quarter and was immediately ruled out.
