The Pistons ultimately fell to the Mavericks 115-105, though, as Dallas got hot in the waning seconds of the game. Overall, off of Hardaway’s strong night from three, the Mavericks shot 43.3 percent from distance. In the last three and half minutes, the Pistons committed four fouls, three of which sent the Mavericks to the line. By the end the night the Pistons had 18 turnovers which resulted in 12 Mavericks’ points. The good thing is that with an increase in developmental minutes for the team’s young core, there will likely be fewer mistakes with each progressing season.

Mavericks Luka Doncic and Jalen Brunson gave Dallas a huge offensive boost, while its defense limited Detroit to just 79 shot attempts. He accounted for eight of Detroit’s first 11 points of the game on 3-of-5 shooting to get them out to an 11-10 lead over the Mavericks. The former Syracuse Orange ended the night on 9-of-16 shooting from the field and 3-of-6 shooting from three. On Wednesday, they may not have given up 15, but the 14 turnovers resulted in 17 points for the Mavericks.
