Solar farm proposed for Deerfield
DEERFIELD More than 1,000 acres of farmland just west of Summerfield Township could become home to a massive solar farm. A portion of the proposed solar farm is to be constructed in Riga Township along the Lipp and Stadler boundary. The solar farm is estimated to produce 160 MW direct current and 115 MW alternate current of power. Residents stood shoulder-to-shoulder in some cases as they sought out more information into the proposed solar farm. Rather than a presentation format, multiple information stands were placed throughout the hall, including images of what the solar farm would look like.
