New alliance aims to lift up Black-owned businesses in Metro Detroit
DETROIT – Black-owned businesses often face unique challenges getting off the ground. “We’re here to change the game for Black entrepreneurs,” President and CEO of Metro Detroit Black Business Alliance Charity Dean said. It’s a partnership between a group of Black business owners and the Detroit NAACP. Dean said because of that money they can provide programming and support services for Black businesses around Metro Detroit. But above all, we will do everything in our power to ensure that Black businesses thrive,” Dean said.
Detroit NAACP, Mayor Frowns At GOP County Canvassers
(CBS DETROIT) – The Detroit NAACP and Mayor Mike Duggan held an emergency press conference Wednesday to address the controversial vote by the Wayne County Board of Canvassers. “This latest election debacle occurring in Wayne County and the city of Detroit is another example of people trying to take away from people who have worked hard, voted right and counted efficiently,” said Detroit NAACP President Rev. President Donald Trump chimed in on twitter Wednesday and stated, “In Detroit, there are far more votes than people. Not one of those five courts have found a shred of truth to the republican’s claim of fraud in the city of Detroit,” said Mayor Mike Duggan. State Board of Canvassers were scheduled to meet today but that meeting was cancelled.
