Chelsea’s Jacob Schultz voted top Ann Arbor-area boys soccer player
ANN ARBOR – Jacob Schultz had a year to remember and readers have added to his successful 2020 season. The Chelsea senior forward was one of the Ann Arbor area’s best soccer players and his play on the field helped him earn Ann Arbor-area soccer Player of the Year honors after a standout season for the Bulldogs. Schultz secured the fan poll with 9,492 votes out of the total 23,254 votes, beating out teammate Connor McKenzie, who earned 7,781 votes. DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings signed forward Sam Gagner to a one-year contract extension Saturday. The Red Wings acquired Gagner on Feb. 24 in a trade with Edmonton. In 42 games last season with the Red Wings and Oilers, Gagner had six goals and seven assists. Detroit also announced it has signed forward Turner Elson to a one-year extension.
