34-year-old Dearborn man charged in hookah lounge stabbing spree
According to the Wayne County Prosecutorโs Office, the suspect stabbed five people at the hookah lounge including a 32-year-old man, two 31-year-old men and a 25-year-old man who are all from Dearborn. DETROIT โ Dearborn resident Taha Shitawi, 34, has been charged in connection with a stabbing spree that took place at a hookah lounge in the 6700 block of Greenfield Road in Detroit around 4:41 a.m. on Sunday. During the argument Shitawi allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the victims before fleeing the scene.
Police say gunfire at Grand Rapids lounge leaves 7 wounded
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. โ Gunfire at a Grand Rapids business badly wounded one and injured six others early Sunday, according to police. Officers were at East Paris Hookah Lounge at about 1:30 a.m. on the cityโs southeast side after gunshots were reported. Seven people showed up at two hospitals with injuries from the shooting, police said. One of the victims, a 29-year-old man, was in serious condition after being shot in the back, while six others in their 20s and 30s suffered less serious injuries. Police said most of the victims were not immediately cooperating with investigators about what happened.
