DETROIT – The night started so well for the Detroit Red Wings. The St. Louis Blues scored the next four goals and held on to defeat Detroit 4-3 at Little Caesars Arena. Ever since Steve Yzerman took over as the Detroit Red Wings general manager nearly four years ago, he has seemingly had a direct line to Doug Armstrong, his St. Louis counterpart. Yzerman has made four trades with St. Louis and signed a free agent from the Blues, and those players have made a significant impact. Some of them return to St. Louis tonight when the Red Wings visit the Blues (8 p.m., Bally Sports Detroit). But at the same time, it would be a lot sweeter going into St. Louis and getting a win. DETROIT – Steve Yzerman has looked to the future during his first three trade deadlines as Detroit Red Wings general manager, acquiring drafts picks and players under contract for players on expiring deals.
