Bates is expected to take official visits to the University of Memphis on Wednesday and the University of Oregon on Friday, according to Stadium basketball analyst Jeff Goodman. The top high school basketball prospect in the country for the 2022 class reportedly will reclassify to the 2021 class and will choose to play for one of three college teams or the NBA G League, according to Stadium basketball analyst Jeff Goodman. Bates released his final four options for his future Wednesday afternoon via his Instagram, which included Michigan State, Oregon and Memphis, in addition to the NBA’s development league. That means should Bates choose to the collegiate route, he could potentially play two years of college basketball. National champion Baylor, Miami and newly formed Overtime Elite league and the National Basketball League were all eliminated from contention for Bates.
