Lions take Hutchinson at No. 2, trade up to take Williams

The Detroit Lions selected Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson with the No. 2 pick in the NFL draft, addressing a desperate need with a hometown star.

Lions likely looking for help on defense with No. 2 pick

The Detroit Lions have been so bad in recent years, winning an average of four games since 2018, that they desperately need an influx of talent at a lot of positions on both sides of the ball.

AP Source: Injured Lions CB Okudah out for rest of season

A person familiar with the situation says Detroit Lions cornerback Jeff Okudah has a season-ending Achilles tendon injury.

Henderson's future with Jaguars uncertain as absences mount

Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback CJ Henderson hasn't been the same since a shoulder injury last October.

Kings of Leon tour Rock Hall, NFT exhibit before draft gig

Kings of Leon’s rock and roll journey has taken them from an NFT to the NFL.

A winner: Chiefs vs Saints, with Brees back to face Mahomes

1 conference seed is tight, with the Packers one game ahead of the Saints, the Rams and Seahawks one game behind. Drew Brees will be active after missing four games with fractured ribs and a collapsed lung, making for an intriguing matchup with Patrick Mahomes. The Bills (11-3) scored twice in a 17-second span in the third quarter to ice their fourth straight victory that officially ended the New England Patriots’ 11-year reign atop the division. The Ravens have run for at least 100 yards in 36 straight games, seven short of the NFL record set by Pittsburgh from 1974-77. Baltimore is averaging 173.8 yards on the ground and topped 200 yards in each of the past two games.

Lions vs. Colts: Matchups to watch, key questions heading into Week 8 game

ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions have won two straight but face their toughest matchup in weeks with the Indianapolis Colts this Sunday. We’ll identify matchups to watch while running through some key questions below:Offensive player to watch: QB Matthew StaffordMatthew Stafford enjoyed his best start of the season last week in Atlanta. For the third consecutive week, Stafford let the ball rip downfield more on pace with last season’s numbers. He caught a season-high five passes for 80 yards last week, though, and seemed to get it clicking with Stafford. One thing is very clear about this Colts defense through six games, and it’s that they’ve made it extremely hard to score while mastering the art of keeping everything in front of them.

Did The Lions Have To Many Needs Not Enough Picks In 2020 Draft?

The Lions addressed needs early but left some things undone as well. The Detroit Lions came into the 2020 NFL Draft with two fairly obvious needs: cornerback and edge rusher. You could possibly criticize the Lions for not recognizing that they had many more needs than just those two and leveraging the No. Despite addressing the teams two biggest needs on the first two days of the draft, the Lions did still leave some stuff undone. 3 overall pick, but thats not nearly enough of a makeover to fix what was wrong with this pass defense last year.
