An armed Waterford Township man accused of assaulting his mother barricaded himself inside a home for hours with another woman while heavily armed authorities surrounded the building, police said.

A Waterford Township school was on lockdown Friday due to a nearby situation that involved heavily armed authorities.

WOLVERINE LAKE, Mich. – Wolverine Lake police have locating 87-year-old Elizabeth Helen Robinson. Robinson, who also goes by the nickname “Betty,” went missing on Thursday in the area of Lakeview Street.

DETROIT Two men were shot inside of a vehicle in Detroit on Saturday. Police say two men were sitting in a silver 2005 Ford Taurus around 8:20 p.m. in the 5200 block of Lakeview Street when an unknown suspect fired shots and struck both of them. One man, 27, was fatally wounded, police said. The other man was taken to the hospital and listed in temporary serious condition.
