Patriots trade former Wolverine Chase Winovich to Browns for Mack Wilson
The Patriots have decided to move on from Chase Winovich. Bill Belichick dealt the inconsistent edge rusher to the Browns for inside linebacker Mack Wilson on Tuesday morning, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. Winovich was entering the final year of his rookie deal after three seasons in Foxborough. A fifth-round pick in the same draft as Winovich, Wilson started 14 games for the Browns as a rookie, but then saw his playing time halved in back-to-back seasons. At 6-foot-1, 233 pounds, he’s smaller than most Patriots inside linebackers, but boasts some coverage skills the unit has lacked.
