A former Flint Township clerk is accused of tampering with a ballot container so the votes inside couldn’t be recounted during an election she narrowly won, officials said.

Former Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith has been ordered to stand trial on embezzlement and other charges.

On Wednesday, 23-year old Taylor police officer Tyler Peake told a judge he was not guilty. Peake is charged with misconduct in office and assault and battery on April 1, 2020.
