Northern Michigan husband and wife charged in fentanyl overdose death
TRAVERSE CITY, MI – A husband and wife from Traverse City are facing felony charges for allegedly delivering fentanyl that resulted in an overdose death earlier this year. Friess, a habitual offender, is charged with one count of delivery of controlled substance (fentanyl) causing death. Butler is charged with one count of aid and abet delivery of controlled substance (fentanyl) causing death. The victim was transported to Munson Hospital in Traverse City where he died due to the toxicity of the drugs in his system. They identified Friess and Butler as suspects believed to have delivered fentanyl to the victim in Wexford County.

CRAWFORD COUNTY, MI – A Michigan woman has been charged in an August 2020 hit-and-run in which a motorcyclist was killed. Sheena Orise Brandenburg, 37, of Gaylord was extradited from Missouri and charged in Crawford County with one count of reckless driving causing death and one count of failure to stop at scene of accident resulting in serious impairment or death. Lambert was thrown from the motorcycle and severely injured at the scene on Lovells Road near County Road 612 in Crawford County’s Lovells Township. Law enforcement officials in Missouri were notified of the warrant and she was arrested by the Elsberry Police Department and lodged in the Lincoln County Missouri Jail. She was later extradited and lodged in the Crawford County Jail.

SELMA TOWNSHIP, Mich. A 71-year-old man who went missing Friday afternoon was discovered in northern Michigan woods early Saturday morning. Police said a 71-year-old man left his home at about 3 p.m. for a daily walk and never returned. The Michigan State Police Cadillac Post K-9 Team was asked to help locate the missing man and started searching just before midnight. The man was found by dogs at about 1 a.m. Police said he was unconscious and extremely cold, so authorities wrapped him in emergency blankets. MORE: Missing in Michigan
