Oskar Sundqvist, in his Red Wings debut, scored a key empty-net goal with 2:51 remaining. The Red Wings (26-30-7) swept the three-game season series with the Flyers (20-32-11). The Flyers scored twice in the second period to cut their deficit to 3-2 and had a few quality chances to tie it before Vrana scored his second of the game with 1:09 remaining in the period. The Red Wings got off to a good start, scoring twice in the first period and adding a goal early in the second. Oscar Lindblom broke in alone and scored at 7:56, capping a rush and cutting the Red Wings’ lead to 3-2.

On Monday, he sent defenseman Nick Leddy to St. Louis for bottom-six center Oskar Sundqvist, defenseman Jake Walman and a 2023 second-round pick. “I’m really not. “He was playing behind some pretty good players in St. Louis,” Yzerman said. “For what’s it worth, we’re gotten rave reviews on his character and his popularity in the locker room in St. Louis. “They’re good players, good people, they like playing here and they’ve played very well for us,” Yzerman said.

The Red Wings today acquired center Oskar Sundqvist and defenseman Jake Walman, along with a second-round selection in 2023, from the St. Louis Blues for Leddy and Luke Witkowski. Walman (6-2, 215) is a left-shooter who has appeared in 32 games this season (three goals, three assists). He has appeared in 121 playoff games (seven goals, 26 assists). Leddy is the final year of his contract ($5.5 million cap hit) and will be an unrestricted free agent in the offseason.

Tom Wilson is good to go after leaving Washington's last game with an upper-body injury and eager to move on from a chaotic few days.
