ANN ARBOR, MI — Ann Arbor is gearing up for a $1.2 million project to pave a dirt and gravel road on the city’s west side with a fresh coat of asphalt. ‘Glass Mural’ office, retail building planned for Detroit’s Eastern Market
DETROIT – A unique retail and office development is planned for Detroit’s Eastern Market. A four-story building dubbed the “Glass Mural,” and inspired by the artistic expression of Eastern Market, is planned to be built directly across Eastern Market’s Shed 3, at the intersection of Russell and Division Street. Currently, the site is home to a two-story brick building that features a mural by local artist DENIAL. Residents on Detroits east side protest homeless center
DETROIT Some residents on Detroits east side came together to protest a homeless shelter in their community. They said that all you have to do is look around and see whats been done to the community because of the local resource for the homeless. No more trash in our streets, no more garbage out in the street, Reverend Aaron McCarthy said. Community members said that Team Wellness Center, a shelter and safe haven for the homeless, is hurting their community. Local 4 reached out to Team Wellness Center for comment.

The competitive sport encouraged exercise and proved to be a hit with the kids, and the organization is now expanding to an adult market. Pong Detroit also plans on creating a senior program, as well as a wheelchair table tennis program for veterans with disabilities.Additionally, the large warehouse space in Eastern Market will allow for more tables, thus making it easier to expand its already running youth program.Owner Mal Lang, a Detroit native, has competed in table tennis tournaments across the U.S. and in China. Lang is also gearing up to coordinate with the Chinese Table Tennis Federation and the Chinese consulate to bring Chinese coaches to teach U.S. children.After students are trained, the organization also plans to send U.S. students to China and to bring Chinese students to the U.S. to play table tennis and have an international experience.
