Burglary suspects arrested after three-county chase
MECOSTA COUNTY, MI – Police arrested two burglary suspects after a three-county chase that ended when suspects abandoned their vehicle and ran into a wooded area in Sand Lake. The incident began around 9:45 a.m. Monday, April 19, when Mecosta County sheriff’s deputies were helping Newaygo County sheriff’s deputies find suspects in a reported burglary on Baseline Road. Mecosta County sheriff’s deputies spotted the suspects’ vehicle on Seven Mile Road and attempted a traffic stop. The suspects fled, with the pursuit by sheriff’s deputies and state police continuing through Mecosta, Montcalm and Kent counties. They are suspects in other incidents in Mecosta, Newaygo and Osceola counties, police said.
