Homeowner displaced after fire damages mobile home
WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI — A fire Friday morning caused significant damage to a mobile home in Scio Township, officials said. The Scio Township Fire Department was dispatched to the Scio Farms Mobile Home Community at about 10:45 a.m. Nov. 5, after members of the park maintenance staff smelled smoke and found the mobile home on fire, said Scio Township Fire Department Chief Andrew Houde. The resident was not inside the mobile home when the fire broke out, Houde said, adding that the home was significantly damaged. No one was injured in the fire, which remains under investigation, but appears to be accidental, Houde said. The Scio Township Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Ann Arbor Police Department, Ann Arbor Township Fire Department and Dexter Fire Department.
