Pop-up COVID vaccine clinics coming to Washtenaw County’s most at-risk communities
WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI — Multiple pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinics are coming to areas of the county most affected by the virus. Washtenaw County Health Department is teaming up with local partners to host multiple pop-up COVID-19 vaccination sites in areas of the county with high Social Vulnerability Index, the county announced in a press release. The doses come from a additional 2,500 Moderna vaccines the Washtenaw County Health Department was awarded through the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Community Outreach COVID-19 Pilot Project, the health department said. In Washtenaw County, 31% of confirmed cases of COVID-19 have come from the 48197 and 48198 ZIP codes on the eastern side of the county, data shows.
