Pandemic successes, future plans part of Jackson mayor’s upcoming State of the City address
JACKSON, MI -- Jackson’s annual “State of the City” address will stream online Wednesday. Mayor Derek Dobies will deliver the speech in a prerecorded video airing online at 6 p.m. March 17. It’s a tradition he started when he became mayor to publicly review city action of the past year and highlight future plans. Dobies said his message will look back at the struggles and accomplishments of the last year during the COVID-19 pandemic, and look toward the future. “The State of the City has been, and will continue to be, a celebration of Jackson’s continued progress,” Dobies said in a statement.
