Year-long maintenance project set to begin at popular Ann Arbor dog park
ANN ARBOR, MI — Ann Arbor’s Swift Run Dog Park is set to undergo a year-long improvement project. Starting Monday, Oct. 4, half of the large-dog portion of the park at 4000 Platt Road will close for extensive maintenance. “The year-long project will include new fencing, replacing turf and allowing the turf to establish over the winter and spring,” the city stated in a news release. The plan is to always keep one side of the large-dog area open during the project, and the small-dog area will not be impacted and will remain open, officials said. Under a new law approved by City Council, dogs in Ann Arbor can be labeled dangerous if they have “provoked” people or other dogs, which can result in $500 tickets for owners.
