Talking to children about what to do in active shooter situations can be sensitive, but the Livingston County company called the Lockout Company is trying to change that.

When a Taylor High School student had a seizure in the middle of class, it was another student who stepped up and saved his life.

It’s exactly a week since 19 children and two teachers were shot and killed at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, TX. The mass shooting has more schools looking at their security measures. Some local districts are turning to Michigan-based The Lockdown Company, which installs an innovative lockdown and alert system.

The immediate response to Tuesday’s (May 24) tragedy has been increased police patrols at local schools. The proactive measures don’t end there.
