Numerous questions remain after the tragic killing of 40-year-old Latricia Denise Green Brown last Friday morning at Henry Ford Hospital.

However, the rising number of positive COVID-19 cases necessitates that the Court once again stop jury trials, bench trials, and evidentiary hearings. As the numbers are on an upward spiral, it is clear that it would not be safe to continue jury trials, bench trials, and evidentiary hearings at this time,” Judge Kenny explained. The Court will continue hearing other matters remotely via Zoom, and jury trials and other in-person trials and evidentiary hearings are expected to resume starting Jan. 6, 2021.

DETROIT According to city officials, the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice will close at 1 p.m. Monday, for a scheduled demonstration on the courthouse steps. Authorities said any afternoon hearings or other matters that are scheduled after 1 p.m. will be rescheduled and other divisions of the Third Circuit Court will be open for normal operations.
