A suspect has been released from police custody after the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office determined that a fatal shooting in Dearborn was in the defense of another person.

A person was killed by a family member during an argument at a home in Dearborn, police said.

A 12-year-old boy was killed overnight when a garage caught fire in Monroe County, and his father and brother were burned while trying to rescue him, officials said.

Three people have been charged after a man was stabbed and robbed by strangers who gave him a ride in Monroe County on Christmas morning, police said.
