Hot, humid air heading to Metro Detroit with chance of rain
After highs around 80 degrees and a mix of hazy sunshine and clouds, the clouds will gradually increase over Metro Detroit.
TONIGHT:
It will be mostly cloudy and mild. Lows will be in the mid 60s. Winds will be out of the south-southeast at 5 to 10 mph.
TOMORROW (TUESDAY):
It will be hot and humid. Temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 80s. That is above the average high of 77 degrees, but it is below the record high of 95 degrees for June 4. However, the heat index will be near 90 degrees. That is what it will feel like.
With a mix of sun and clouds, a pop-up shower or thunderstorm is possible, but most areas are expected to remain dry. The chance of rain will be slightly higher north of I-69.
TOMORROW NIGHT:
It will be mostly cloudy. Overnight temperatures will fall to the mid 60s.
WEDNESDAY:
An approaching cold front will give Southeast Michigan the chance of showers and thunderstorms starting in the morning and lasting through the night. Highs will be in the lower 80s. It will be muggy with heat indices near 90 degrees again. The cold front will sweep across the area at night. Lows will be in the lower 60s.
THURSDAY:
The air will be cooler and more refreshing as the temperatures and humidity decrease, but a few showers will be possible in the afternoon and evening. Highs will be in the mid 70s, or near normal. At night, it will be partly cloudy with lows in the mid 50s.
FRIDAY:
Skies will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy with the chance of a few showers. Cooler temperatures will keep highs only in the upper 60s to 70 degrees. Lows will be in the mid 50s.
WEEKEND:
Saturday and Sunday, it will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy with highs in the mid to upper 70s. A stray shower cannot be ruled out either day.
