DETROIT – There is a chance for snow and a wintry mix Tuesday afternoon in southeastern Michigan. Wet weather is on the way, and parts of our West and North Zones may get a wet inch or two of snow by the late afternoon and/or evening. The rest of us will see a wintry mix of some light snow becoming rain with those temps flirting with 40F. It will be a sloppy evening drive, and slick or slippery with snow more likely north of M 59. West Central Michigan is under a Winter Weather Advisory starting in the afternoon.

Metro Detroit weather: Rainy Monday in the 60s

Temps are in the lower 60s as you head out, so grab the umbrella for what is to come later today. Temps hold in the mid to upper 60s midday, falling throughout the afternoon as the heavier rounds of rain move through. We’ll see cooler 40s early with light rain showers scattered around Metro Detroit by mid-morning Wednesday. Expect a few lingering showers here and there into the afternoon with temps in the low to mid 60s and steady breezes.

Well have some sunshine this morning then, around lunchtime, those of you in our West Zone should start looking to the west as the first wave of thunderstorms should be developing. At this point, I do not expect widespread severe weather. That doesnt mean that a stray strong wind gust isnt possible, as weve seen in recent days, but most of us shouldnt see severe weather.

Metro Detroit Weather: Great stretch of summer

DETROIT It's not only going to be a great, summer day, it's going to be like this all week. We have mostly clear skies over Metro Detroit to get going on your Monday morning with temps mainly in the lower to middle 60s as you head out and about for that morning walk, or heading to work. It's a little early, but the weekend right now looks bone dry like the rest of this week. It may not be until sometime next week before we get some rain returning and it will be badly needed. Remember, the best way to keep an eye on all things weather here in Pure Michigan is the Local4Casters app, free in your app store searching WDIV.
