A 5-month-old wallaby has disappeared from the Detroit Zoo.

The Detroit Zoo says a 5-month-old wallaby baby, which the zoo formally announced just last week, has gone missing.

There’s a new “joey” in town at the Detroit Zoo.

A longtime staple of the Detroit Zoo, a miniature donkey named Giovanni, has passed away, according to the zoo.

“They both had to learn how to interact with another bear -- which took them a little bit of time,” Carter said. “Like all bear cubs, they play kind of rough and they’re both okay with that.”

A grizzly bear found wandering alone in Alaska, too young to be separated from its mother, has been moved to the Detroit Zoo, it’s new home.
