AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – A driver was killed in Auburn Hills when her car struck a culvert and flipped upside down, police said.
The crash happened at 1:39 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025, on South Boulevard between Adams and Squirrel roads in Auburn Hills.
A 61-year-old Rochester Hills woman was driving a 2023 Chevrolet Equinox was heading east when the SUV drifted across the center line, went into the left ditch, and hit a culvert, witnesses told police during the investigation.
That crash caused the SUV to flip onto its roof, police said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody else was inside the SUV, and no other cars were involved in the crash, police said.
The Southeast Oakland County Crash Investigation Team -- which includes investigators from Auburn Hills, Bloomfield Township, Troy, Bloomfield Hills, Birmingham, and Clawson -- is investigating the crash.
