Visitors rejoice as Giant Slide on Belle Isle reopens for summer activities

The Giant Slide on Detroit's Belle Isle, a 40-foot summer attraction since 1967, reopened on June 6 after implementing new safety measures. Previously closed due to COVID and an incident in 2022 where riders went too fast, the slide was subject to a lawsuit in 2023. It now features improvements like a new landing pad and has passed a safety inspection.
