DEA weighs in on Kratom dangers

You can buy it at a gas station, and doctors say it is becoming seriously addictive. It is called 7-OH, short for 7-Hydroxymitragynine.  It’s a potent kratom product — legal and sold openly at smoke shops, vape stores and gas stations across Michigan. But addiction specialists are raising the alarm. They say people are getting hooked fast — and this is turning into a real public health problem.  Brian McNeal with the DEA joined Local 4 Live to help us understand how kratom fits into the bigger drug conversation.
