Howell man charged in connection with Pittsfield Township murder, shooting in Ypsilanti
ANN ARBOR, Mich. โ Roger Lee Pierce Jr., a 50-year-old man from Howell, was arraigned Saturday in connection with a Pittsfield Township homicide and a shooting in Ypsilanti. Police said they found the body of Marcus McMullan, a 39-year-old man from Ypsilanti, with a gunshot wound to the head. Police, joined by officers with the Detroit DEA office and Michigan State Police, took Pierce into custody on an arrest warrant for felonious assault. Police said during the interview with Pierce, additional search warrants led to charges being authorized for open murder and six other firearm related counts. Pierce was arraigned Saturday and is being held without bond.

Its very dangerous: DEA warns of candy-like meth circulating in Midwestern region
DETROIT The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) said meth disguised as candy, or child vitamins, is creeping its way into the Midwestern region. This is the first time that weve really seen this, said DEA Special Agent in Charge of Detroit Field Division, Keith Martin. In the last couple months, weve seen these meth pills that look like candy, or some people say they look like Flintstone vitamins, but theyre actually meth pills, Martin said. We do know that the cartels are using the same routes that theyve used for the last hundred years, theyre using the same transportation routes, Martin said. Its dangerous for adults, and its definitely dangerous for children, Martin said.

Piersanteโs job as a DEA agent took him to Afghanistan as part of the FAST Team. โThese drug labs, they (the Taliban) fiercely defend them and there all behind enemy lines.โIn 2009, while overseas, Piersante was shot in the head and lost his eyesight. โI had a frontal lobe brain injury because the bullet went to the front of my brain. I had two ruptured eye globes and two detached retinas, in which resulted in the brain injury, resulting in the craniotomy,โ he said.
Warren police, DEA raid 10 homes
WARREN, Mich. - Police and the DEA carried out 10 raids at homes near the Warren-Detroit border. Sky4 video shows one person in handcuffs on the ground outside a home around 6 a.m. Wednesday. Warren Mayor Jim Fouts said the raid was targeting a major drug organization responsible for distributing drugs such as heroin and fentanyl. There were eight arrests.
