Federal inspectors tour Washtenaw County apartments plagued by mold and flooding

Inspectors from the Department of Housing and Urban Development visited Sycamore Meadows apartment complex in Superior Township after residents raised concerns about mold, flooding, and other damage, which led to a non-compliance notice from the township. The township supervisor, HUD inspectors, and court-appointed management toured several units to assess the reported issues, while residents expressed fear of retaliation for speaking out. One resident, Sharon, reported threats after sharing her story, prompting township officials to escalate the matter to HUD. Management declined to comment when approached for a response.
