Metro Detroit grandfather seeking kidney donor receives flood of calls after Local 4 story

Some promising news to share tonight on a story we brought you earlier this week. At 68, Ed Nyberg needs a kidney. Local 4 spoke to him and his family about their struggles finding a living donor. Nyberg has stage 5 kidney failure and is down to 9% kidney function. His family has spent much of their free time going around the area, passing out flyers and spreading the word to encourage potential donors to come forward. Since our report on Wednesday night, Nyberg's donor ambassador has been inundated with calls! Brandon Hayes is with Give to Live Health. He wrote, "I need you to know that I've been flooded with responses to Ed's story on Channel 4 News. It's reached several other markets through their affiliates as well, and I'm booked SOLID with donor calls today and Monday."
