Detroit Youth Choir offers free summer performing arts program for students in grades 1-10

A free summer performing arts program is giving Detroit students a chance to build their talents while staying engaged academically. The Detroit Youth Choir's Encore Summer Performing Arts Program begins Monday and runs through Aug. 14. The program is open to students entering grades 1 through 10. Participants will receive daily instruction in music, dance, and theater, along with enrichment in math and English. Breakfast and lunch are provided each day. The program is offered at three locations across Detroit, making it accessible to families throughout the city. The summer session will conclude with performances at the Garden Theater on Aug. 20 and 21, showcasing what students have learned during the six-week program.
