Canada celebrates completion of Gordie Howe International Bridge

The Gordie Howe International Bridge will soon be open, with Canadians celebrating the completion of the years-long project. According to officials, the new bridge connecting I-75 in Detroit to Highway 401 in Ontario will open to traffic as early as 12 p.m. on Monday, July 27. The toll-free multi-use path will open to walkers and cyclists on Wednesday, Aug. 5. The ceremony on the Canadian side of the bridge was held on Friday, July 24.
