Cold Saturday night ahead of late week warmup

Lake effect snow showers expected into Sunday morning

DETROIT – We're in for another cold night but the cloud cover could save us from slipping too low overnight.

Temps will fall to the upper teens and many neighborhoods will have single digit wind chills first thing Sunday morning.

The cold north winds bringing the chill is also bringing lake effect snow showers that will likely linger into Sunday morning, especially from Port Huron on down to Detroit on the east side.

Eventually, some sun will break out from time to time and highs will only reach the upper 20s.

Monday will be a much brighter day with highs into the low and mid 30s as we slowly start to warm things up.

We will see 40s by Thursday and we may feel a warm up near 50 degrees next weekend.

The one storm we're watching will be a close call for us Tuesday night and early Wednesday with a chance for snow showers midweek. But the models are not yet convinced it will hit us and may pass to our south.

Looks like we will at least get grazed by the storm bringing light snow this Tuesday evening.

Stay tuned to Local 4 News and clickondetroit.com for updates as that storm inches closer.
